Where to stay in Paros to visit the third largest island in the Cyclades? Find out where to stay in Paros!
World-renowned for its beaches and traditional villages, Paros is the main maritime crossroads and third largest island in the Cyclades. With a total surface area of 196.755 km², Paros is home to a population of just 12,853 permanent inhabitants, but multiplies when the summer season is in full swing. Visitors flock to Paros for its beautiful beaches, bustling harbors, typical landscape, picturesque villages draped in blue and white, water sports, historical and cultural heritage and beautiful architecture. What’s more, accommodation prices in Paros are lower than in neighboring Mykonos or Santorini.
As is often the case on the islands, we recommend renting a car to travel freely between Parikia, Naoussa, Lefkès, Aliki, Piso Livadi, Pounta and Ampelas. Accommodation on Paros is available in many small villages, each offering a different atmosphere. Here’s where to stay on Paros.
Parikia
The capital is the main port of arrival for ferries and tourists to Paros. Hotels are plentiful here, as are the hordes of tourists who arrive to take photos of the narrow streets. We’ll arrive at the bustling port of Parikia, where we’ll escape the hustle and bustle to explore the charming and picturesque old town. The Kastro, a 13th-century Venetian castle, the church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani, beaches and hotels to stay at in downtown Parikia and along the coast, before arriving at the coves of Agios Fokas.

Naoussa
Naoussa is a small fishing village in the north of the island of Paros. You’ll be charmed by the bright white facades of the narrow streets. Be warned, as the village is very busy, accommodation prices in Naoussa can soar in summer. Forced to gentrify by mass tourism, the quays of the fishing port are gradually being replaced by lounge bars and restaurants, hotels and guesthouses. Nearby, the rocks of Kolimbithres offer a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear water.

Piso Livadi
We head back south to the village of Piso Livadi, in the south-east of the island. This is Paros’ third-largest seaside resort, surrounded by magnificent sandy beaches and almost bathtub-like warm waters. Although it’s a busy village, the atmosphere is quieter than in the north of the island, and remains family-friendly. A few kilometers to the south, drop by Golden Beach, described as one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on Paros, with crystal-clear, rock-clear water. Stay at Piso Livadi if you want to be in close contact with the local population, or if you’re fleeing the tourist hustle and bustle of Parikia.

Lefkès
Between Parikia and Piso Livadi, in the center of the island, lies the village of Lefkès: perched at an altitude of 200 meters on the heights of the interior, Lefkès is home to just 765 inhabitants. In the course of its history, the village once occupied a defensive position. Don’t miss a visit to the Church of the Holy Trinity, a bright and flamboyant building in Paros marble. Please remember to book in advance, as this is a small village, and there may not be any rooms available in Lefkès if you come « unannounced ».
