New York is a pretty expensive city in terms of accommodation, and it’s pretty hard to find good hotels for « reasonable » prices. So be prepared to pull out your wallet.

In New York, you’ll be hard pressed to find hotels for less than €100 a night, and for that price you’ll have to make do with tiny rooms and minimal service, or simply leave Manhattan for other, more remote and therefore less expensive areas. Still, it’s a shame to miss out on living in Manhattan. When you go on vacation to New York, you want to live like a New Yorker and experience the special atmosphere that reigns in Manhattan.

Midtown is a very lively and luxurious district, with Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the famous 5th Avenue and its stores. A particularly popular place for tourists to start their tour of Manhattan and do some shopping.

Here are a few hotels in New York where you can be in Midtown Manhattan and sleep comfortably at the same time.

The Rogers Smith is a hotel on Lexington Avenue, conveniently located in Midtown, very central and close to all major subway lines. Easily accessible from JFK. The hotel’s rooftop is pleasant, as are the very comfortable rooms.

The Casablanca Hotel is a charming boutique hotel located 2 steps from Times Square, in a lively yet quiet neighborhood. The hotel offers breakfast and a wine and cheese aperitif every evening from 5pm to 8pm.

The 373 Fifth Avenue hotel is also very central, very close to the Empire State Building. A little further than the two previous hotels from the subway entrances (about a 5-minute walk), it’s still a good value Midtown hotel.

Check availability From €180

The DoubleTree by Hilton Metropolitan New York City is a little more « uptown » than the Rogers Smith on Lexington Avenue, and therefore a little less central, but still close enough to everything, as it’s just 2 steps from the 51 Street Station subway station.

Check availability From €110

The Row NYC at Times Square is located in Midtown West, very close to Times Square, in an area a little livelier than Lexington Avenue and closer to Penn Station (if you’re coming from Newark, for example). The rooms aren’t as big as those in the previous hotels, but they’re just right for the price in Manhattan Midtown.
