Le Grau du Roi is the leading trawling port in the Mediterranean, so take the opportunity to watch the return of the trawlers. Time stands still as the trawlers return after more than 10 hours at sea, escorted by a flock of seagulls and gulls. It’s a sight to behold at any time of year. Trawlers generally return to port around 5pm. If the end of their journey is further out, in the part of the harbor set aside for this purpose, the trawlers pass over the part of the harbor stuck to the center. Be there at that moment and enjoy a unique experience. You’ll also see the pretty barges, some of which offer sea rides.

To fully appreciate the ambience of this maritime town, head to the port’s cooperative. This is where the fish are unloaded and sold. You can stroll along the quayside to soak up the local way of life. Then continue into the rest of the center, to wander the streets full of little stores and lunch spots. Finally, take a dip on the beach.

Staying in the center of Le Grau du Roi is an excellent choice.
