Where to sleep near Pisa Galileo Galilei airport? Here are our tips for finding accommodation for a transfer or short stay.
If you’re planning to visit the Pisa and Florence region, you’ll probably be passing through Pisa’s Galileo Galilei airport. And, in certain circumstances, sleeping near the airport can be comfortable or necessary. Indeed, if your flight lands or takes off early (or late), a night nearby can save you a few hours’ sleep and a certain amount of stress. If you’re just making a stopover, you’ll undoubtedly be more rested if you opt for a comfortable room than if you doze off in the airport.
It can also happen that you can’t board as planned. For example, take-off may be cancelled due to bad weather, technical failure or, more commonly, overbooking. In this case, you will probably be placed on a new flight and will have to stay close to the terminal.
In all these cases, you need to find accommodation that suits you, in terms of comfort and budget. This mini-guide is here to help. Here are some tips on where to stay near Pisa airport.
Is Pisa airport open at night?
Unfortunately, Pisa airport is not open all night. Its doors are closed between the departure of the last flight (usually between midnight and 1am) and 4am. A word of warning: don’t be tempted by the beautiful lawns in front of the entrance. In fact, the automatic sprinklers come on at the coolest times of the day, exactly during closing time.
