Manila airport has no rail network. So you can only reach the nearest metro station by bus or cab. However, the journey can be very long, as Manila’s traffic is dense. If you’re lucky, you’ll reach your hotel in thirty minutes. Unfortunately, the journey during rush hour can take over an hour.

Manila airport is open at night. It’s a huge airport with four terminals connected by a shuttle bus. You’ll find everything you need to wait: restaurants, bars, showers, Wi-Fi and sockets. It’s possible to sleep for free in the airport, as many benches have no armrests.

However, the noise, light and extreme temperatures will probably prevent you from getting any sleep. So we recommend you take a look at our list of hotels near Manila airport, to ensure a more pleasant night’s sleep.

If your stopover is during the day, you can also rent a room for a few hours. Nearby accommodations are from major international chains. As a result, the rooms are well soundproofed and you’ll find all the comfort you need.

Lounge/day rooms

Inside the airport you’ll find two lounges where you can sleep for just a few hours. They’re ideal for relaxing, showering and staying close to your boarding area. The first is located in Terminal 1, on the fourth floor next to the Sampaguita Lounge. However, it has only nine rooms.

That’s why we recommend the Wings Transit Lounge. It’s located in Terminal 3, on the fourth floor. It offers seventeen capsules, sixteen double rooms and one suite. There’s also a shower, spa and massage room for you to relax in.

Manila Marriott Hotel *****

This is one of the best hotels to stay at near Manila airport. It’s a five-minute walk from Terminal 4 and ten minutes from Terminal 3.

We also offer a free shuttle service to the terminal of your choice. Rooms are large and well-equipped: Wi-Fi (fee), Apple TV, soundproofing, air conditioning. The hotel features an indoor and outdoor pool, spa, massage salon, Jacuzzi and beauty salon. There’s also a gym if your long flight has left you in the mood for some exercise. What’s more, a number of restaurants, cafés and bars are also available for your dining pleasure.

Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City ***

The hotel is close to Terminal 3, and a shuttle bus is available free of charge. The hotel offers very good value for money, so you can spend a pleasant night close to the airport.

Rooms are clean, spacious and bright. Also, the bedding is comfortable and each room is equipped with an 81 cm flat-screen TV. The hotel is modern and the staff are friendly and professional. Breakfast is complete and copious. A restaurant, café/bar and gym are also available.

Maxims Hotel *****

Maxims is just a few minutes from Terminal 3. It offers a free airport shuttle service. It’s a two-minute walk from the Newport shopping center.

As a result, you’ll find all the services you need nearby (7-11, Starbucks, Casino, etc.). Rooms are spacious, clean and the bathroom has a bathtub. This is one of the airport’s oldest hotels, but it’s aging very well and still boasts five stars.

Sheraton Manila Airport *****

The Sheraton Hotel is close to Terminal 3, and a free shuttle bus is available.

This modern establishment has all the facilities you’ll need. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, restaurants, cafés, bars, maid service and more. Rooms are very large, with en suite bathrooms and sitting areas. The breakfast buffet is copious and the variety of dishes is immense.

It’s the ideal district if you have time to visit the many monuments, parks and ruins of the historic city walls.

Malate

This is a very popular area for backpackers, as it’s possible to sleep close to Manila airport for very little money. Nevertheless, it’s a very lively area, so we don’t recommend it for families. On the other hand, if you’re young and like the nightlife, you’ll find what you’re looking for in Malate.

Makati

Makati is Manila’s business center. It’s a little Manhattan, with huge buildings and numerous hotels, bars, restaurants and boutiques. The district is mainly for Westerners and wealthy Asians. Makati is close to the airport, about seven kilometers, but with traffic jams the journey can take up to an hour.

Pasay

Pasay is an interesting district, not only because of its proximity to Manila Bay, but also because of its proximity to the airport: it’s possible to sleep near Manila airport. You’ll find plenty of attractions to make your evening a pleasant one.
