Visiting Copenhagen or Malmö (Sweden)? You may need to book a place to stay near Copenhagen airport!

Denmark’s capital was founded by the Vikings in the 10th century. This city of 623,404 inhabitants is a hub between Western Europe and Scandinavia. A large part of the city lies to the east of the island of Sjælland, separated from Sweden by the Øresund Strait. The city center – Christianhavn – is dotted with bridges and canals, earning it the nickname « Little Amsterdam ».

Are you in transit at Copenhagen airport or visiting the Danish capital? Located southeast of the city center, Copenhagen airport is one of the largest in the Nordic countries. Here’s our advice on where to stay near Copenhagen airport.

Copenhagen’s Kastrup airport is open 24 hours a day. If you have an early morning flight, it’s possible to stay overnight. We advise you to bring a sleeping bag, warm clothes and a pillow. Also, find a relatively quiet corner where you can settle down away from the drafts.

If you’re on a budget, take a few provisions with you. Airport prices, especially in Scandinavia, are exorbitant. Nevertheless, you’ll find shops where you can grab a bite to eat and a good drink to pass the time. If you’ve got the time and the budget, however, we advise you to aim for hotels close to Copenhagen airport. Logically, you’ll sleep much better there!
