Nightlife in Buenos Aires
One of the best-known aspects of Buenos Aires is its lively nightlife, reputed to be among the best in South America. When other cities are slumbering, Buenos Aires is alive with darkness. One thing you’ll notice immediately in this city is that nightlife is a huge part of your porteña experience. From theaters on Avenida Corrientes to tango lounges, bars and large discotheques(boliches), Buenos Aires offers exceptional evening entertainment.
Going out in Buenos Aires is very different from going out in Europe, since here you won’t find anyone on the streets before 10 – 11 pm, when the bars are just starting to fill up. Porteños eat late (dinner starts at 9pm), and it’s quite common to meet up with friends in bars until 2am. We only head for the boliches (local nightclubs) from 2 – 3am. That way, you’ll be dancing late into the night, even into the early hours, eating a pancho before going to bed.

Buenos Aires, the city that never sleeps either
In a big city like Buenos Aires, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to nightlife, fun and entertainment. Here we’ve listed the addresses that caught our attention, but you’ll find many other bars and places to have fun and go out. Talk to the locals, who’ll be happy to guide you.
Just remember that if you want to go out in Buenos Aires, you’ve got time: bars and clubs don’t fill up until late. The best thing to do is to take advantage of happy hours while you’re eating, and then really start your evening.
And don’t forget that parties often end after 5 a.m., so to get the most out of your evening, don’t drink too much early on to keep you going until dawn.
