You’re in luck: the best time to visit the Canaries is all year round. And with good reason: the sun shines on the Canary Islands from January to December. You can count on temperatures ranging from 16 to 26 degrees, whatever the season.

However, if you want to be sure of no rain, choose June. This is when the weather is most regular.

On the other hand, if you’d prefer to get away from the dreariness of France and find some sunshine, it’s perfectly possible to come in November, December, January or February. Temperatures are also very pleasant.

On the budget

As everywhere else, July and August are generally the busiest months. Not the best time to visit the Canary Islands.

At this time of year, prices tend to rise naturally. If you prefer to limit your vacation spending, avoid the high season.

But rest assured, the Canary Islands are generally inexpensive. So you can enjoy activities and beautiful hotels all year round, without having to blow your budget.

Carnival

Carnival takes place on the islands of Tenerife and Las Palmas. Although the Las Palmas carnival is the oldest, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife carnival is the most impressive.

And for good reason: it’s the second biggest after Rio. So if you’re coming to the Canaries in February, don’t miss this event.

Ironman Lanzarote

It’s a triathlon event created in 1992 by a Dane. It’s not just a triathlon, however, as this event is reputed to be one of the toughest in the world.

On the program: 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42 kilometers of marathon. If you’re lucky enough to finish in the top 60, you’ll automatically qualify for the World Championships in Hawaii.
