Visit Dubrovnik in the footsteps of the Game of Thrones series, in the setting of the city of « King’s Landing ».
For aficionados of the TV series Game of Thrones, every landscape is a spectacle in itself. Just as New Zealand’s Middle-earth has brought back the joys of The Lord of the Rings, it has recently become possible to visit the filming locations of the series based on George R. R. Martin’s novels. And one of the most emblematic locations for this visit is surely the Croatian city of Dubrovnik.
The site of covetousness
Dubrovnik is the site par excellence of the Iron Throne, the object of all covetousness; the city appears in the series as the city of King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Crowns.
On this 2-hour tour, which is fantastic in more ways than one, you’ll discover the various filming locations, such as the Saint-Laurent fortress and the Red Keep, as well as the fortress walls, where we can still make out the many plots being hatched to conquer the Iron Throne. Dubrovnik’s surroundings have also served as the backdrop forKing’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms and the headquarters of the Iron Throne. The fortresses of Minčeta, Bokar and Lovrijenac were chosen to house the Lannister castle.
