Although the hike is classified as of medium difficulty, it is physically demanding. It’s also important to note that as of 2019, a guide is required to complete this climb. Mont M’Goun is an unmissable experience if you’re a lover of beautiful scenery. It lies on the eastern slopes of the central Atlas Mountains and offers remarkable panoramic views of the High Atlas and Jebel Siroua mountains. The most popular itineraries start in the Rose Valley and pass through Ait Moussa, then over the Tagharat pass before reaching the summit. If you love nature and adventure, then Mont Ouanoukrim is for you! The second-highest peak in the Atlas Mountains is located close to Mount Toubkal. It’s a must-see destination for mountain hikers. With an altitude of 4083 meters, this moderately demanding hike offers unforgettable views of Mount Toubkal and the surrounding valleys.

To reach the summit, the most frequently used routes leave from the Tacheddirt refuge and cross the Ait Mizane valley. Although the hike is not very long, the altitude and steep descents can complicate the climb. For this reason, we strongly recommendhiring a local guide to help you navigate the mountain. Before you set off, be sure to check the weather conditions to make the most of this adventure.

Mount Siroua and its volcanic beauty

Finally, don’t miss Mont Siroua, a must-see volcanic peak for Atlas climbing enthusiasts. The summit rises to 3305 meters above sea level and offers accessible hikes for medium-level adventurers. The most popular routes start in Taliouine and cross the Siroua valley on the way to the summit. Here, you can enjoy unique landscapes, local flora and fauna, traditional Berber villages and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
