With Christmas just two days away, menu planning becomes a dilemma between chicken, capon, turkey or guinea fowl.

In fact, turkey is the leanest of all poultry, with just 3% fat and 115 kcal per 100 g. What’s more, its subtle flavor makes it a great option for young children.

If turkey doesn’t appeal to you, guinea fowl is an excellent alternative, being the second lowest-fat poultry with only 6 grams of fat per 100 grams of meat!

If you prefer capon, it’s more tender, but also fatter! Capon contains between 17 and 18% fat and around 250 kcal per 100 g!

However, if you want to avoid excess, you also need to be careful with sauces and poultry accompaniments!

Even if turkey is the slimming ally of the holidays, don’t forget that all poultry has many benefits!
