Excessive use of these sauces can lead to cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity!
The magazine also highlights the importance of sweeteners and additives in ketchups, which can affect our health!
The worst ketchups in the ranking
The Leclerc brand, with its Rustica Tomato Ketchup reduced in sugars, contains little tomato, but far too much salt!
Auchan brand ketchup and U brand Tomato Ketchup contain few additives, but far too much salt: they score 11.5/20!
With 12/20, Casino’s low-fat Tomato Ketchup has far too much salt. The same goes for Jardin Bio ketchup!
And the best students are…
One portion of ketchup provides around 10% of the recommended daily allowance of salt and sugar. Unfortunately, it’s rare to limit yourself to just one serving of ketchup!
Nevertheless, 60 millions de consommateurs magazine has uncovered the best ketchups on the market! Enough to add a lick to your plate!
To begin with, there are a few brands of ketchup that score between 13 and 16/20, which are still decent scores for these ketchups:
- Buttercup Organic from Intermarché,
- Tomato Ketchup by Amora and its organic version,
- Regalo d’Aldi.
Nevertheless, the quantity of additives remains high!
Among the best ketchups are :
- Tomato Ketchup -50% sugar from Carrefour,
- Tomato Ketchup -50% salt and sugar from Heinz,
The amount of sugar and salt remains very reasonable!
The best on the market is Quintesens sauce, Naturalia’s incredible ketchup, which takes first place in the ranking! With a relatively good sugar and additive content, and an acceptable salt content!
