La liste des aliments qui nous mettent de mauvaise humeur !

A good mood can also be found on your plate. And yes, your diet plays a more than essential role in your daily sense of well-being.

While some foods stimulate our serotonin levels, also known as the happiness hormone, others do the opposite!

Diet can affect our mood in many ways. The foods we eat have an impact on the way our bodies function, including the production of neurotransmitters and hormones that regulate our moods.

To make sure you’re always in top form and in good spirits, here are the foods to avoid!

Foods rich in refined sugar influence your mood

Foods rich in refined sugar , such as soft drinks, candies, cakes and cookies, have a high glycemic index, which means they are quickly digested and cause a rapid and significant rise in blood sugar levels.

This rapid and significant rise in blood sugar levels may lead to a brief increase in energy, but this is quickly followed by a sharp drop.

This leads to feelings of fatigue, irritability, mood swings and reduced concentration and focus.

It’s advisable to limit consumption of foods rich in refined sugar and prefer healthier foods to maintain a stable and optimal mood.

For a better mood, avoid trans fats

«  Trans fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids with at least one double bond in the trans position, » explains ANSES.

Eating habits rich in trans fatty acids may be associated with an increased risk of depression and other mental health problems, according to some studies.

These fatty acids, found in meat, milk, French fries, cookies and ultra-processed foods, have been blamed by several studies for their negative impact on cardiovascular health.

Processed foods affect your mood

» Ultra-processed products are the ones that most negatively affect our mood , » explains one neuroscientist.

However, consuming processed products from time to time won’t harm your health; these foods have an impact when they are part of our daily diet.

To stay in a good mood, avoid these foods!
