It was the early 19th century. A handful of visionary promoters decided to found a new seaside resort on the bay of Le Pouliguen: La Baule-Escoublac. It has to be said that the area, with its fine sand dunes and salt marshes, has a real charm all of its own.

Tourists soon flocked to the area, and the city grew by leaps and bounds. Throughout the century, architects took advantage of this playground to push the limits of their imagination. Gradually, eclectic hotels and villas, followed by modern buildings, took over the waterfront.
