The best beaches in Europe are in Spain, according to travelers who have visited in the last 12 months!

The French know how to party, but the Spanish are definitely the kings of the party. If you’re already thinking about your summer vacation, you’ll probably be spending it on the shores of one of the continent’s liveliest beaches, in the Basque Country. Indeed, Spain holds the record for the best beaches in Europe, as well as the trophy for the best beach on the Old Continent. The ranking was established by TripAdvisor, based on « the quantity and quality of comments left by travelers » over a 12-month period.

First in Europe, sixth worldwide

Playa de la Concha was voted Europe’s best beach by Internet users. Situated in San Sebastian, it ranks sixth in the world among 343 competing beaches on six continents. The world’s best beach is Baia Do Santos in Brazil.

Since Spain has been crowned by Internet users as the country with the best beach in Europe, we turned our attention to our neighbor’s other seaside gems. Based on the number of votes received, here is the list of Spain’s best beaches:
