Czech beer is a national pride, and here’s our selection of the best beer bars in Prague where you can enjoy it!
There’s no shortage of beer-drinking opportunities in Prague! The Czech Republic is the most beer-drinking country in the world, by a long, long way: 148.6 liters of beer per capita, or a pint a day! And why? Because beer is the locals’ favorite drink, and the country boasts no fewer than 110 breweries of all sizes. Beer is even cheaper than water in supermarkets, and in beer bars you can get away with less than €2 a pint.
To help you make the most of it, we’ve put together a short list of Prague’s best beer bars, from the most essential to the most unusual!
1. U Tri Ruzi
One of Prague’s must-visit beer bars, U Tri Ruzi is located right in the center of Prague. It’s a classy traditional Czech brewery, with wooden finishes and mood lighting. This bar offers good craft beers to be enjoyed with or without moderation!
Address: U Tri Ruzi – Husova 232/10, 110 00 Staré Město
2. U Fleků
This is one of the oldest breweries in Central Europe: beer has been brewed here for over 500 years. This Prague beer bar owes its reputation to its 13° draught beer (13% wort before fermentation). Don’t hesitate to come and try this delicious dark beer!

3. Beer Geek
Beer Geek is also a must, for those who want to drink a beer in Prague in a very youthful setting and atmosphere. The menu is more international, leaving less room for Czech craft beers. But the bar has its own brewery, offers delicious tasting platters and, above all, is very lively! What’s more, it’s located in the heart of a lively neighborhood.
Address: Beer Geek – Vinohradská 988/62, 130 00 Žižkov
4. Zlý Časy
A little off-center and more rustic, it’s the ideal place for a tasting session. This beer bar offers no less than forty-eight draught beers, from small craft breweries as well as from all over the world (some very rare beers). Its warm, woodsy atmosphere makes it one of the best beer bars in Prague!
Address: Zlý Časy – Čestmírova 390/5, 140 00 Praha 4
5. Craft House Prague
You’ll find this famous Prague beer bar just off Karlovo náměstí (Charles Square). On the menu you’ll find 27 draught beers and over 100 bottled beers from the Czech Republic and around the world. The barman knows his stuff and will be happy to advise you. Whether you’re a beer lover or not, we recommend this address!

6. Loď Pivovar
For a beer on the water with a magnificent view of Prague Castle, this barge-brewery is the place to be! You’ll also be able to sample tasty Czech dishes and home-smoked charcuterie!
