Lake Garda is divided into two parts: the northern and southern parts. The basso lago (south) is the only one where jet skiing is possible. The northern part is subject to speed restrictions. This means that few motorized vehicles can access this part of the island. This is particularly true of personal watercraft. The alto lago is more geared towards windsurfing, due to the strong winds.
If you want to rent a jet ski on Lake Garda, you’ll have to go to the southern part of the lake. Most jet ski rental centers at Lake Garda restrict the use of personal watercraft to people of legal age.
Finally, you don’t need any special equipment to jet ski on Lake Garda. The service providers supply all the necessary safety equipment (life jackets, ropes, etc.). You’ll just need to bring your swimsuit and sea shoes to feel more comfortable.
