Plan a ferry trip to Majorca with Direct Ferries

Majorque, Baléares

To travel to Mallorca from Barcelona by ferry, we recommend you use the Direct Ferries ferry comparison website. This specialized website will usually help you find the best fares and schedules closest to your travel dates.

It also makes it easy to book your ferry crossing to Mallorca from the port of Barcelona. This major destination is served continuously throughout the year, with at least one crossing a day by one of the port’s two main companies (Balearia and Trasmediterranea).

The crossing can take place day or night, depending on the rhythm of the season. In summer, several crossings take place each day, so you can choose according to your preferences. If the routes from Barcelona are incompatible with these, you can still reach the ports of Valencia and Dénia further south.

How do I book a ferry to Majorca from Barcelona?

Majorque, Baléares

As with air travel and other forms of public transport, we recommend that you book your ferry tickets several weeks or even months in advance. The earlier you buy your tickets, the lower the price.

Fortunately, you can easily book your trip with Direct Ferries. All you need to do is enter your travel dates on the comparator, as well as the desired timetable, number of passengers and number of pets, if any. If you’re traveling with your own vehicle, you’ll also need to enter its type, make and model.

The Direct Ferries search engine will then suggest several timetables and fares. You can then compare the different options available and choose the one best suited to your preferences. Please note that prices can fluctuate rapidly upwards, particularly during or close to the summer season. Currently, prices easily exceed €400 for a round trip.

We therefore recommend that you book well in advance to benefit from more reasonable rates, whether or not during the tourist season. Fares also depend on the type of vehicle and the number of passengers.

Once you’ve selected your crossings, you can also choose your seat and cabin type. The latter is an optional extra, but without it you’ll have to sleep in the ship’s lounge or on deck. You can also indicate whether you’d like a meal and priority boarding. All these options will logically increase the price of your crossing.

Last but not least, we offer cancellation insurance (free of charge) for €9.75 per passenger. With a standard ticket, change fees can be as high as €35. As changes and cancellations are frequent, we recommend that you take out this insurance, especially for bookings made well in advance.

Please note: on the websites of the various companies (Balearia and Trasmediterranea), you’ll find rates that are very similar to those of Direct Ferries.
