Voici ce qui vous attend si vous manquez de sommeil !

Sleep is an essential factor in the proper development and functioning of the body! Deep sleep is the key to physical and cognitive health! That’s why it’s so important to get quality sleep!

From a certain age onwards, it’s harder for the brain to fall into this sleep phase, which could explain the onset of certain diseases! We tell you more!

From the age of 30 onwards, sleep quality declines…

Aging leads to numerous sleep disorders, and these same disorders are closely linked to the appearance of the first cognitive dysfunctions in the elderly.

At least, that’s what researchers at the University of California, USA, suggest in a study just published in the journal Neuron.

These researchers observed that, from a certain age onwards – not so advanced, since the first signs appear as early as 30 – the brain is less and less able to generate the brainwaves and chemical substances needed to enter the deep sleep phase, characterized by a drop in physical and cerebral activity, involving a reduction in body temperature, heart rate and breathing.

A lack of sleep means a greater risk of illness?

This deterioration in deep sleep is linked to a large number of pathologies including, in addition to cognitive degeneration ,obesity, diabetes and stroke.

In fact, as Matthew Walker, Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of California and lead author of this study, confirms,  » virtually all the diseases that kill us late in life are linked to sleep deprivation » .

What now remains to be done is to find ways of improving deep sleep, a process that cannot be regulated by sleeping pills that do not promote restful sleep.
