One study reported that people consuming « more than one serving of whole or low-fat dairy products per day had a reduced risk of heart disease, heart attack or death from heart disease ».

Another study published in European Journal of Nutrition also revealed that  » those who frequently ate cheese were up to 18% less likely to develop cardiovascular disease, up to 14% less likely to develop coronary heart disease and up to 10% less likely to have a stroke » .

Eating cheese can also help with sports recovery! In fact, an NIH study « confirms that whey and casein proteins in milk can improve recovery after exercise and help stimulate muscle protein synthesis.  »

Cheese can be a healthy addition to a balanced diet, but it’s important to keep portion size in mind!

Despite this, we mustn’t forget that cheese is a very salty food, high in calories and also contains a lot of saturated fat! So don’t overdo it!

But that’s easier said than done! And yes, most cheese lovers have a major problem: they eat too much of it!

Eating too much cheese can be detrimental to your health because of its high saturated fat content!

According to a study by the European Journal of Nutrition, we need to consume around 40 grams of cheese a day to benefit from its goodness, without it having harmful effects! For example, 40 g of cheese is equivalent to 1 to 2 slices of Camembert!
