In Strasbourg, on-street parking is paid and regulated. Spaces are counted and charged for Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm. They are free on Sundays and public holidays. They are divided into three or even four different zones:
- Green zone: maximum parking time is 5 hours for €35. 1 hour costs fifty cents. This zone is located on the outskirts of the city center;
- Zone orange: maximum parking time is 4 hours for €35. 1 hour costs €1.70. This zone encircles the historic center;

To pay at the pay and display machine, you can use cash, credit card (contact or contactless) or your telephone. The new, intuitive touch-screens on the machines allow you to obtain a paperless ticket. Simply enter your license plate number.
