Cannes is playing the game and enhancing the attractiveness of its city center in order to bring it to life. As a result, the city of cinema has nearly 2,200 on-street parking spaces. The pay-and-display street map is divided into two zones. Paid parking is available Monday to Saturday, 8am to 12pm and 2pm to 7pm. Parking is free on Sundays and public holidays.
Here are the two zones and their special features:
- Green zone for shopping and tourism: parking spaces are located right in the city center, and the first half-hour is free. After that, you pay €3 for two hours. If you own or have rented a « clean » vehicle with a green disc, two hours are free. Maximum parking time is 5h30.
- Yellow zone, known as Eco Park: in this zone, which borders on the historic center, the first hour’s parking is free. Thereafter, the rate is €3 for two hours. If you have a « clean » vehicle, you’ll get another two hours free. The maximum parking time is 6 hours.
When you want to park in Cannes, on streets equipped with parking meters, simply enter your license plate number on the touch-sensitive keypad. Then take your ticket. You can also pay via a mobile application. Download « Whoosh » and reserve or extend the validity of your parking ticket remotely. Valid in both green and yellow zones.

Parking in Cannes for free? It’s possible! Better than cheap parking in Cannes, the city has 16,000 free parking spaces throughout the city. Of course, these spaces are popular with well-informed locals and tourists alike. To give it a try, go to the following districts:
- Le Suquet: just a few minutes from the must-see districts, the port and the Palais des Festivals;
- Quartier République: a ten-minute walk from downtown and the train station, some avenues are free of charge;
- Broussailles district: opposite the Cannes hospital, there are several unpaid streets;
- Palm Beach: at the Pointe de la Croisette, near the beach and the Casino, the parking lot offers two hundred free spaces;
- Pont des Gabres district: the Vautrin parking lot and rue Lacour are both free of charge and ideally located for a shopping trip or a beach outing;
- Close to boulevard Carnot: here you’ll find around 100 free parking spaces, just a stone’s throw from the historic center.

Eighteen parking lots and thousands of parking spaces are available for your convenience. On weekends, you get three hours free. On weekdays, two hours free. There’s also a « night pass » with a 3-hour maximum from Saturday 7pm to Sunday 9am.
