What type of boat to rent in Carry-le-Rouet?

Here in Carry-le-Rouet, there are two harbors. A large harbor sheltered from the winds in the heart of a calanque. And a smaller harbor to the east of the town center. You can rent a boat in either of them.
Larger models such as sailboats and catamarans, as well as smaller motorboats and zodiacs, are available. Some models are available in the ports around Marseille or Martigues. This is the case for the vast majority of catamarans and yachts.
How much does it cost to rent a boat in Carry-le-Rouet?

For a full-day or half-day boat rental, you can choose between a boat rental with or without a skipper.
Boat rental with skipper on board
- Rent a motorboat for €180 with at least five people on board for €900 a day;
- For a sailing boat, prices range from €49 for a 10m boat for five people to €280 per day for seven people;
- Zodiacs can be rented from €150 per day for up to eight people.
Hire without skipper on board
- For a motorboat with two to four people on board, allow around 150€ and 750€ for six people;
- Sailing boats range from 60€ per day for seven people to 620€ for eightpeople;
- If you want to book a houseboat in Carry-le-Rouet, you won’t be able to reserve it at the ports. You’ll have to go to Saint-Gilles or Carnon;
- To charter a yacht, go to Marseille and expect to pay between €1,020 for a minimum of six people and €4,000 for nine people per day.
How can I rent a boat in Carry-le-Rouet?

More and more people are choosing to rent a skippered boat in Carry-le-Rouet. This way, they can rest assured that they won’t have to worry about a thing during their crossing. Whether you want to rent a sailboat or a motorboat, you can ask tohave a skipper on board when you rent the boat.

Carry-le-Rouet’s two harbors have different characteristics. The first, the main harbor, is located in the heart of a calanque, sheltered from the wind by a wooded area on the cliffs. It has 575 berths and 55 visitor berths. It is about 4 m deep. It is reserved for boats under 15 m.
On-site fuel, refuelling and repair services are available. Access is available day and night. The daytime approach is to the west of the « Pain de Sucre », in concrete on a rocky outcrop. The slipway is 17 m wide.
The second port is open access. Note that the slipway width is only 5 m.
When is the best time to sail in Carry-le-Rouet?
The best time to enjoy sailing in Carry-le-Rouet is during the summer season. But temperatures on the Mediterranean coast are mild most of the year. That’s why theoff-season is always one of the most pleasant times to enjoy summer.
If you’re looking for ease of use and fewer crowds, choose months like May or late August or early September to rent a boat in Carry-le-Rouet.
