Larger boats, such as catamarans or speedboats for up to 10 people, can be rented for between €500 and €1,000 a day.
These rates are for dry hire, i.e. without fuel. You must fill up at the fuel station located at the harbor master’s office before departure, and/or on return, depending on the rental terms and conditions. However, all mandatory safety equipment must be on board (life jackets of sufficient size and quantity, ropes, buoys, fire extinguishers, etc.).

There are several boat rental companies in Carnon. Usually located close to the port, they offer a range of options, either on your own or accompanied by a skipper. Do I need a licence to sail in Carnon?

Carnon’s dynamic, modern marina enjoys a privileged location. In fact, the town and its bay are sheltered from gale force winds, enabling amateur and seasoned sailors alike to enjoy quiet outings at sea all year round.
Catamarans and light sails must park in an area reserved for them. This is located in the western outer harbor and has 60 spaces. At the height of the season, be sure to check that a space is available by contacting the harbor master’s office (VHF channel 9).
Port fees depend on the size of the boat. They range from :
- 10€ and 60€ per day during the summer;
- 9€ and 52€ in April, May, June and September;
- 5€ and 29€ the rest of the year.
Please note: there are only 30 berths on the quay at Carnon.
When is the best time to sail in Carnon?
Carnon offers pleasant sailing conditions from April to September.
- However, if you want to enjoy the sea in complete tranquillity, spring is the perfect season. What’s more, it’s the ideal season to enjoy the thousand colors of the Camargue !
- Summer is a great time for lounging and swimming, but with the exception of a few wild beaches, the coast and sea are often (very) busy.

Carnon Bay
This short outing, lasting around 2 hours, takes you off the coast of Carnon. You’ll enjoy an exceptional view of the hinterland and its peaks, such as the Pic Saint Loup, or the Cévennes.
If you feel like it, continue on to Villeneuve-les-Maguelonnes and its cathedral, before returning to Carnon.
From Carnon to Port-Camargue
