  • 📍 Location: Montée de l’Emir Abd el Kader, Amboise (37)
  • 💙 We love: the site’s historical importance

Welcome to the Château d’Amboise, a sublime Renaissance royal residence in the Indre-et-Loire region of France. This palace, with its refined architecture and hanging gardens, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful châteaux on the Loire. It overlooks the river, its valley and the town of Amboise from a spectacular rocky promontory. There’s no doubt that François 1er enjoyed the panorama in his day… as did Leonardo da Vinci, who spent the last three years of his life at the château. The illustrious scientist is still buried here: his tomb can be visited in the Saint-Hubert chapel.

The site will be transformed in December, as it is every year, for a « Christmas in the Land of Castles » event. From December 3, 2022 to January 2, 2023, the public will be able to take advantage of Christmas activities specially designed for families. On the menu: guided tours, night-time tours, musical performances, workshops and storytelling walks. And gourmets will be in for a treat with fabulous gastronomic discoveries to share. The magic of Christmas is definitely alive and well on the banks of the Loire: don’t miss out!

  • 📍 Location: Boulevard de Parc, Coupvray (77)
  • 💙 We like: the quality of the countless attractions on offer

Disneyland Paris? This legendary theme park is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. From November 12 to January 8, Mickey and his friends are sure to impress you with their incredible Christmas entertainment. All around the majestic 24-metre-high Christmas tree glittering at the heart of the park, animated celebrations are legion.

The Christmas Parade and the incredible Disney Dreams night show are well worth a visit. The latter is a show combining fireworks, projections, fountains and Christmas music. It features the great Disney classics, and is based on the architecture of the castle, which is illuminated in rhythm for the occasion. Breathtaking light entertainment!

The Disney parks boast some fifty fun attractions for young and old alike. There’s something for every taste and age. The worlds of the Disney franchise follow one another as you move around the complex. Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars are sure to delight children of all ages. Our advice? Make the most of the moment! You won’t have time to do it all anyway, so enjoy the magic of Christmas.

  • 📍 Location: 28 Boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle, Paris (20e arrondissement)
  • 💙 We love: educational and… gourmet workshops.

A gourmet version of Christmas in Paris? That’s what we propose in the aisles of the Musée du Chocolat, the temple of this cocoa confectionery. This cultural space reveals the fascinating origins of chocolate since its creation by the Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Exciting exhibitions highlight the cultural importance of this highly consumed product. Of particular note are the gigantic replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe – not to be tasted, of course.

The public is also invited to get their hands dirty and make delicious creations to take home. Open to visitors aged 6 and over, the workshops offer a unique opportunity to learn how to make your own confectionery. Under the guidance of a master chocolatier, you’ll learn the basic techniques required to create these cocoa-flavored delights.

The Christmas activities proposed at the end of the year are aimed at making chocolate Advent calendars or Santa Claus. These fun workshops are particularly enjoyable for families. You can even spoil your loved ones back home by bringing home your creations. Beware of liver attacks, though…

After the Musée du Chocolat, we invite you to visit the Musée du Jouet in Colmar. Opened some thirty years ago, this Alsatian site features collections of vintage and contemporary toys. Puzzles, toy soldiers, rocking horses and puppets rub shoulders with board games, electric toys and delightful porcelain dolls.

Housed in a former local cinema, the Musée du Jouet de Colmar is sure to delight young and old alike. The variety of items on display and the quality of the temporary exhibitions are no mean feats. On the top floor, there’s even a network of trains that runs through the entire level!

The Musée du Jouet is a great idea for a family outing in Colmar. Strolling through its lively aisles in the company of friends and family, you’re likely to come across your childhood toys. Experiencing the magic of Christmas in this way is bound to make you feel like a child again, and maybe even a little old-fashioned: you’ve been warned!
