A 4×4 safari in the Dubai desert is not an uncommon activity. In fact, many service providers offer this amazing local activity. What differs between activities is simply what’s included.
Indeed, while some companies offer you the opportunity to double the 4×4 safari with a camel safari, others suggest gliding over the sand dunes on a sandboard or enjoying an original barbecue in the middle of the desert. It’s up to you. But why limit yourself by choosing among these various activities when you can discover them all?
In fact, thanks to this 4×4 safari we’ve found for you, there’s no need to make concessions – you’ll have the opportunity to try out everything! From surveying the red dunes in a 4×4, to riding down them on a sandboard, to discovering them on camelback, you’ll know the desert like the back of your hand (or almost)!
So when you book your Dubai desert 4×4 safari, be aware that you’ll have a choice of durations. This doesn’t mean you’ll be riding the dunes for 4 or 7 hours. In fact, the duration just tells you whether or not dinner is included in your package. In this case, the 4-hour activity does not include dinner, while the 7-hour activity does.

First of all, remember that Dubai is a city built in the desert. It has obviously managed to adapt to this initially hostile environment. So, to reach the ideal location for your 4×4 safari, you’ll need to drive for a few dozen minutes, or even an hour, depending on your departure point and city traffic.
To make sure you don’t get lost and to facilitate your journey, we can arrange for you to be picked up from your hotel. You’ll need to work out the details with the service provider to arrange a meeting time.
Once you arrive in the Dubai desert, there’s no time to lose! The all-terrain vehicle you’ll be riding in will start the downhill and uphill gradients. You’ll dominate the red dunes and lift kilos of orange sand, undulating under the powerful desert sun. With this landscape as far as the eye can see, you’ll have only the sun to guide you.
There are also breaks where you can take out your camera and capture some wonderful memories. But you’ll also have the chance to glide over the dunes on a sandboard. Fun guaranteed!
Up for a barbecue?
Depending on when you start your activity, you’ll be able to enjoy the sunset over the sand dunes, enhancing the red of that distinctive sand. Those who haven’t opted for dinner will head back to their hotel, while others will stay. They can then dress up in traditional costumes and take advantage of the Bedoin camp. Here you can get a henna tattoo and even discover camel riding.
Finally, it’s time for lunch in the Bedouin camp. You’ll taste local specialties at a barbecue, as well as falafel and chawarmas, a kind of kebab. Then round off your meal with an Arabian coffee and fresh dates. During the meal, you’ll be treated to a traditional Tanoura and belly-dance show.
