In France, nearly 19,000 new cases of cancer could be prevented by a healthy diet, in line with certain recommendations that will have a real impact on quality of life and life expectancy!

Discover 4 nutritional tips to limit the onset of the disease!

Limit your alcohol consumption

Alcohol is the main dietary risk factor for cancer in France. In fact, 7 to 10% of cancers are linked to excessivealcohol consumption.

It’s important to limit your daily consumption to less than 2 glasses, including wine, beer and aperitifs!

Limit your consumption of ultra-processed, high-fat foods

Processed foods, full of fat and sugar, are high in calories and low in nutrients, which can increase the risk of cancer.

Industrial and fast-food products are rich in energy, and therefore encourage overweight and obesity: two risk factors for more than a dozen cancers!

As far as possible, avoid: industrial breads and buns, chocolate bars, appetizers, ready-made meals, fast food, instant soups or pasta, meat preparations, desserts rich in sugar and fat, and soft drinks!

Limit your consumption of red meat

Red and processed meats, as well as cold cuts, are associated with an increased risk of cancer.

Meat consumption should not exceed 10% of daily energy intake. Opt for alternative proteins such as chicken, fish or legumes.

Eat a diet rich in plant-based foods, fiber and antioxidants.

Today, 20 to 25% of cancers are attributable to nutritional factors, according to the Centre Léon Bernard.

People who actively consume fruit and vegetables develop less cancer. Antioxidants help protect cells against free radical damage.

Antioxidant-rich foods include fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, green tea and dark chocolate.

It is recommended to consume 400 to 800 grams of various fruits and vegetables every day.
